A New Home On The Horizon...

If you're unfamiliar with Easton, CT, it's a small town in the northern section of Farifield County exuding with New England charm.  Small country stores and a residential setting, makes it perfect for those who want a little peace and quiet.  It is also home to people who look for great schools, quiet streets, wooded neighborhoods and room to spread out.

This week, our "Property Spotlight" is on:

40 Far Horizon Drive
Easton, CT

Completely redone from the inside out, this beautiful split-level home features 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, living room, dining room, fireplace, brand new kitchen appliances, countertops, cabinets, redesigned baths, hardwood floors throughout and a 2 car attached garage.
Located on a large wooded lot in a great location, makes this stunning home quite desirable.

Here's a peek at the interior...

One "not to miss" establishment in Easton is Silverman's Farm.  As a Connecticut resident, apple picking in the fall is the equivalent to swimming in the ocean for a Floridian; it must be done.

With an array of farms to choose from, it may be hard to make a decision; but after you've discovered Silverman's, the visit becomes an annual tradition.

The farm offers so much to explore...

Apple Orchard
Pumpkin Patch
Christmas Tree Farm
Florist and Greenhouse
Animal Farm
Country Market
Bakery
and Live Entertainment!

Silverman's Farm is less than 2 miles from our listing!

A Charming Place to Live...

Charming.  That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of the Old Hill neighborhood of Westport, CT.  West of the Saugatuck River, north of the Post Road, many homes in this historic section of town date from the Revolutionary and Victorian eras.

Its convenience to beaches, parks, shopping and restaurants makes it one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Westport.

This week, our Property Spotlight is on:

6 Marion Road
Westport, CT

An attractive Colonial, this beautiful home boasts an impressive floor plan including:

4,300 square feet
5 Bedrooms
4.5 Bathrooms
Living room with fireplace
Formal dining room
Family room
Large bonus room
Master bedroom suite with a renovated bath
Screened porch
Patio
Private level yard
In-ground pool and pool house

Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, yet conveniently close to all that Westport has to offer makes this home quite desirable.

Downtown Westport in particular, only a little over a mile from our listing, offers an array of shops and restaurants to choose from.  In particular, these are worth checking out...

Getting to Know Springdale in Stamford, CT

Springdale is a great section of Stamford.  Being a Stamford native and knowing all the ins and outs of each neighborhood, I can say that with sincerity.

It's easy to view a house online and picture yourself in it; but making that committment to actually rent or buy can be nerve-wracking if you don't know the area.

This week's Property Spotlight is on

17 Chatfield Street
Stamford, CT  06907

If you're a Metro North commuter, this home is ideal.  It's only a short walk to the Springdale train station.  Here are some key features:

Updated kitchen and bath
Newer appliances
3 bedrooms
2 full baths
Living Room with fireplace
Dining Room
Hardwood floors throughout
Deck overlooking a fenced-in yard
Off-street parking
Finished basement with a theater!

Now, with that being said, let's get down to what's in the area.  If you're planning on living here, you should know that Springdale has a lot of options for dining, shopping and entertainment.  And if you're a true local, or just want to go where the locals go, you should definitely check out these places...

Ugh, who can resist some really great diner food?? Springdale Diner, located conveniently next to the Springdale train station should be a stop either before or after your commute.  Open 7 days a week, they offer your quintessential diner specialties. And within walking distance to this well-known establishment, you can easily walk off those calories on your way home!

Springdale is also great for families. The Stamford Twin Rinks offers more than what you might think. From figure skating to hockey, dance lessons to fitness centers, birthday parties to summer camps, this organization is hopping all year long. But one really fun activity to check out is "Friday Night DJ Skate" when the arena lights are dimmed, the ice rink is lit up to simulate a club atmosphere, and the music pumps out popular requests that can be made right from the penalty box.  This center, fun for everyone in the family is not even a mile away from our listing!

If it's a little more relaxed atmosphere you crave, then a short drive (approximately 10 minutes) up the road will lead you to the Sterling Farms Golf Course.  Set amongst 144 acres, this 18 hole course offers a quiet, park-like setting, heated driving range and amenities, and has continuosly been rated Fairfield County's #1 public golf course.

There’s no doubt AUTUMN has arrived… apple picking, pumpkin pie, football; it’s New England at its best.  And if you choose to live here, you can relish in all that it has to offer.

Compass Real Estate Group is here to kick-off the season by not only presenting you with our most recent listings, but to also let you know a little more about the area where you might be looking to purchase or rent your new home.

It’s not always the case that someone in the market for real estate necessarily knows that area in and out.  They might be relocating from another city or even another state.  Consider that old real estate adage “location, location, location”.  Of course this ultimately refers to choosing between the cozy cape on a quiet cul-de-sac or a mansion next to the highway, but it definitely doesn’t exclude the town or city in which you choose to live.

With a better understanding of what each town has to offer, you can make a wise choice and be confident that you won’t be scouring the real estate section of the paper in 6 months in the anticipation of another move.

Each week, Compass Real Estate Group will make it our goal to feature a listing along with information of that area.  This way you can get a real feel for the town you might eventually call “home”.

This week, our “Property Spotlight” is on:
91 Westwood Road in Fairfield, CT
$3100/month

Not only does this beautiful home come fully stocked with 3 large bedrooms, an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a living room with built-in cabinets and a fireplace; it also offers a sun room overlooking a sprawling backyard, complete with a stone fire pit.  Picture yourself living on a quiet cul-de-sac in a town that is located in what many refer to as “the gold coast” of Connecticut.

“Area Spotlight”

From pumpkin picking to movie tickets, from restaurant coupons to the local weather, this website is extremely helpful in providing you up to the minute information about Fairfield, CT.
